Thanks for the advice wetdec.

I have boarded under the marmox former (and have the drain.....I missed it..!!).

With the membrane, the durabase one is 3mm thick which, when bedded in adhesive and then with more adhesive and tiles on top will make my floor around 20-25mm higher. I didn't really want this much difference in height as it will mean a step into the room. The shower part of the room will have doors so the rest of the bathroom won't need to be a "full" wet room if you see what I mean.

Is there an alternative which won't be so thick. I have seen membranes which say they are only 0.15mm thick (WOP I think it was, or maybe Homelux??).

I already have aquapanel waterproof boards on the walls of the shower area. Presumably joints will need to be sealed with waterproof tape and the junction with the floor.
