Default Re: wetroom- no former just plywood?

My dilemma- What does a former add that a good carpenter can't do for the fraction of the cost?

The correct interaction between former and drain

A shower area with Specifically calculated falls so that water drains locally without puddling

No break in materials eliminating damage through lateral movement.

Former manufacturers have done it before and cant run away

Fabricated former + gulley £260

Recommended former not insulation board + peace of mind approx £340

To install a wet room in any wood floored upstairs situation a shower former / gulley with an off the roll waterproof tanking / uncoupling membrane should be used...........

Unfortunately there is no recommended alternative to this and if you compare any saving you might make doing half a job with your insurance loading there can be little dispute.

If you require further please dont hesitate
