Wood expands and contracts laterally WAY more than vertically! If the floor swelled enough to pop off the wall tiles - i think the wall tiles would be the smallest problem

I always tile walls first, leaving off the bottom row. Tile the floor nice and tight (not too tight, mind!) to the wall and then drop the last row of wall tiles down to the floor (using a 1mm spacer on the floor) and silicone where the wall meets the floor - thus allowing for slight expansion & contraction
