I have to say my Norton is brilliant. However, we are comparing a table saw to a compact here! I am surprised Norton got it wrong! I found their helpline brilliant when I rang them with a problem on my motor they shipped me one from Luxembourg in 24 Hours and arranged for a fiutter to be there to change it

. You can't beat service like that IMO. Why not ring their helpline and tell them the problems and see what they say? They may even offer to replace it rather than have you unhappy.
