I went to the Schluter stand at the T&S show and asked what i should use to stick it to the chipboard substrate, they advised me to use a single part rapid set flexi addy. I used a 3mm trowel and Ultra rapid set flexi, i then used the same addy to stick the tiles on to it. No probs so far

As to whether it's any good, well you just have to take the manufacturers word for it i guess. Unless you able to see it do what it says on the tin,and no cracks appear, i would say it's great.
